Privacy

The operator of meiker.eu and the controller of the data is IGORI s. r. o., company ID 53 804 643, Lermontovova 911/3, 811 05 Bratislava - Staré Mesto.

What data we process

From makers: name or trading name, town, phone (not public, optional), email, company ID, photos of work, categories, description. From clients: name (optional), email, phone (optional) and town (optional).

From a task on top of that: the text of the messages, the photos you send into it, the times of the individual stages and, for confirmations of the agreement, of the handover or of a cancellation, also the IP address and browser details of the side that confirmed.

What we use it for

We keep a task so that you and the maker can agree and so that you both have a record of what was agreed. The legal basis is performance of a contract and the steps before it is concluded under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For keeping the record of a task, for protecting the site against abuse and for the IP address with browser details on confirmations we rely on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: to have proof of who confirmed what and when. We do not sell the data and we do not use it for marketing.

The maker's phone is not public. We use it for the verification call when a maker asks for the "Verified maker" badge, and to sort out problems with a profile. The client's phone and town are seen by the maker the client opened the task with - the town straight away, because he needs it to price the job and to get to the customer, the phone only after he answers in the task for the first time himself.

When a client marks in a task that you agreed off meiker.eu, the record is kept against the maker's profile and the maker can see it on request.

Who gets the data

The content of a task is seen by the maker you opened it with. For the data you send him this way the maker is a separate controller - what he does with it next is his responsibility. We do not normally look into the content of the messages; we open it only when one of the sides asks us for help, when we get a report or when the law requires it of us.

Technical processors: Supabase (database and storage, EU), Resend (sending email, USA under standard contractual clauses), Cloudflare (hosting and Turnstile form protection when it is switched on), Umami (traffic without cookies, EU region; it does not run on task pages), Google (Google Analytics 4, Google Ireland; data may be processed in the USA under standard contractual clauses), Microsoft (Clarity session recordings, USA under standard contractual clauses), Sentry (error logs, USA). To keep spam out of the forms we keep a simple counter of submissions with the IP address and the email; we delete those records after 30 days.

Request records: Cloudflare keeps a technical record of every request to the site for 7 days - the address, the time, the status and the duration. The address includes the text you typed into the search. The same text is sent to Anthropic (USA under standard contractual clauses) to suggest concrete jobs; we send only the typed text, never who typed it. We remember the suggestions for the same text so we do not ask twice.

Besides Umami we measure traffic with Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. They record page views and clicks; Clarity also stores anonymised recordings of how the page is used (movement and clicks), with everything typed into forms masked out of the recording. IP addresses are anonymised. Both services set cookies in the browser. Neither runs on the task pages.

How long

We keep a task and the messages in it including photos for 24 months from the day it is closed or cancelled. A task that was never closed is cancelled automatically after 12 months without any activity. The 24 month retention period runs from that moment. A maker's profile exists until the maker deletes it or asks us to delete it.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected and erased, to restrict the processing, to portability, and the right to object to processing we base on legitimate interest. Just write to info@meiker.eu and we will sort it out.

On an erasure request we remove the content of the task: the text of the messages, the photos and your contact details including name, email and IP address. The record that the task existed, which stages it went through and when, stays - we need it to establish and defend legal claims under Article 17(3)(e) GDPR.

If you are not happy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (dataprotection.gov.sk).
